bowl bank has ended

since launching bowl bank thousands of you have returned your bowls to our restaurants to make sure they were properly recycled. we're incredibly grateful for everyone who took part. but we want to let you know, that bowl bank ended on the 1 april 2026

we introduced bowl bank at a time when recycling at home wasn't available everywhere in the uk. but thanks to the simpler recycling reforms introduced by the uk government on 1 of april, in england our bowls will be easier to recycle than ever before. this means you no longer need to return bowls to restaurant - you can recycle them easily yourself at home 

what to do from the 1 april 2026

• empty any leftovers into your food waste bin (or keep in the fridge for later)

• give the bowl a quick rinse

• place it in your at home mixed recycling bin

bowl bank helped us bridge the gap while home recycling options were less consistent. now that recycling is becoming simpler and more widely available, the next step is making it easier for everyone to do the right thing
