1. how we collect your information
when you use the website we may collect and process information about you. Where you can be identified from this information (directly or indirectly), it will comprise your “personal information” and must be treated with additional care.

using the provided wi-fi in one of our restaurants; reporting a problem or requesting support for the website; communicating with us through third party social media websites or applications (e.g. twitter, facebook, instagram); and participating in our contests, promotions, sweepstakes and surveys on the website.
The information we collect includes your name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, date of birth, gender, social media account details (such as facebook and twitter), and any other information you provide on registration, on placing an order and through other means on the website, some of which will comprise your personal information.
If you are ordering a takeaway from one of our restaurants you may also provide us with your credit or debit card number and expiry date. We will not store this information which will instead be processed and stored by our payment providers in accordance with their privacy policies
2. nhs test and trace + your information
to support the nhs test and trace service, wagamama is required by law to collect and store a record of visits to our premises by staff, guests and visitors for the purpose of contact tracing
by capturing this information and sharing it with public health authorities when requested, we can help maintain a safe environment for our teams + our guests and help fight the transmission of coronavirus
what information is collected?
during your visit, we will collect your personal information for example when you use a facility such as our pay on phone service. you may also be asked to provide your information by scanning the wagamama test and trace qr code. the information collected will be:
- the first and last names of the member of the party that is making the payment
- a contact telephone number
- a contact email address
please note that our system will automatically capture the date and time of the visit
once your information is collected
wagamama is responsible for compliance with data protection legislation for the period of time it holds the information. when that information is requested by the nhs test and trace service, the nhs would at that point become responsible for compliance with data protection legislation
nhs test and trace require us to retain this information for 21 days from the date of your visit, to enable contact tracing to be carried out correctly
how your information is used
we will only share information with nhs test and trace if it is specifically requested by them
for example, if another guest at the venue reported symptoms and subsequently tested positive, nhs test and trace can request the log of guest details for a particular time period and within a set proximity (for example, this may be all guests who visited on a particular day or during a particular time-band)
if the information is collected only for the purpose of contact tracing (for example, when you use the specific wagamama test and trace qr code it will not be used for other purposes, and nhs test and trace will not disclose this information to any third party unless required to do so by law (for example, as a result of receiving a court order). in addition, where the information is only collected for the purpose of contact tracing, it will be destroyed by wagamama 21 days after the date of your visit
if the information we collect is part of the information that we would usually collect, store and use in our ordinary dealings with you (such as the information we collect when you use our wifi or the pay on phone facility), this information will continue to be held after 21 days and we will use it as we usually would, unless and until you tell us not to
3. how we use your information
we process this information for the purpose of:
dealing with your inquiries and requests;
providing and personalising our service for you;
to notify you about changes to our service;
compiling your membership profile;
processing your payment;
crime prevention and prosecution of offenders;
as part of our efforts to keep the website safe and secure;
maintaining information as a reference tool or general resource (for analytics and research);
providing reservation or booking services;
gathering information to form statistical and trend analysis;
research and analytics on an aggregate and/or anonymous basis;
